Virtual Finance Team Member / Bookkeeper - Remote

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum, fully remote.

This is a fully remote based position for an established and successful accountancy firm. The business has been experience ongoing success and is keen to add a further bookkeeper / virtual finance team member to their team.

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in all aspects of bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledgers, CIS and VAT as well as management accounts and business advisory work.

As a Virtual finance team member / bookkeeper at Together We Count you will be responsible for taking care of the bookkeeping needs of multiple clients at once as delegated by your line manager. We offer varying Virtual Finance Office packages to our clients, and we understand that each client is unique in their needs.

These packages range from weekly to quarterly accounting and may include an accounts@ email address from which we manage all accountancy related correspondence, such as liaising with suppliers and subcontractors. Monitoring and using this accounts email for each client will form part of your role as well as the below.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Weekly payment runs
  • Monthly payment runs
  • Monthly CIS returns and all required compliance
  • Weekly debtors reports
  • Monthly bookkeeping
  • Quarterly and monthly VAT return preparation
  • Purchase and sales ledger tasks
  • Completion of management accounts by agreed date
  • Other administration duties as required by TWC and clients
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Growing the business through referrals
  • Offer bespoke bookkeeping advise
  • Strive to ensure the business is streamlined and spot efficiencies where possible
  • Advise clients in relation to the VAT reverse charge, bookkeeping and any matters (as your experience allows)
  • Support the team, and client managers, to continuously deliver the agreed level of service

 

Knowledge Requirements:

 

Accounting topics - including, but not limited to:

  • Sound knowledge of the construction industry / CIS -  Preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Good knowledge of VAT rates, especially those used for construction and hospitality. Knowledge of domestic reverse charge would be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of HMRC guidelines
  • Excellent knowledge of Xero 

 

Experience and Skills Required:

  • AAT Qualified Bookkeeper (desirable but will consider trainee)
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Xero, Hubdoc and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with accuracy and an attention to detail
  • Happy to work remotely after probation
  • A ‘get stuff done’ attitude and ability to multi-task and take responsibility for workload
  • Experience in bookkeeping and accounts for the plumbing and heating industry would be desirable
  • Willingness to learn and engage in continuing professional development. 
  • Ability to adapt to new and emerging technology, such as AI.
