An independent firm of chartered accountants in Brighton is looking for a Tax Manager. This is the most senior tax appointment in the business, so you would be taking ownership of the function rather than joining a layer of it.
Mixed portfolio. Personal tax leads, but there is business tax, trust work and a constant stream of advisory questions coming off the accounts side that nobody currently has the capacity to chase properly. That is the opportunity here.
The role
- Owning the personal tax compliance cycle and reviewing the team’s work
- Capital gains tax, inheritance tax and succession planning
- Remuneration planning, incorporations and restructures for owner-managed businesses
- Residence and domicile questions
- Supporting corporate tax work including computations and capital allowances
- Managing HMRC enquiries and disclosures
- Developing the tax team and acting as the technical point of reference for the directors
