A long-established Brighton practice is looking for a Senior Tax Technician to take real ownership of its self-assessment work. You'd also be the person clients turn to for help with Making Tax Digital.

This is a firm where clients stay for decades and can still pick up the phone and speak to someone who knows them. It's a settled, personal practice, but it's far from old-fashioned. It works closely with the main cloud software providers, has put real energy into MTD, and is growing.

What you'll be doing:

• Running a portfolio of self-assessment returns from start to finish: sole traders, landlords, directors and higher net worth clients
• Advising clients on MTD for Income Tax, from software and record keeping to quarterly updates
• Dealing with HMRC correspondence and enquiries
• Reviewing work from junior colleagues and helping them develop
• Supporting managers and partners on more complex personal tax matters

What you'll bring:

• Solid UK personal tax experience, ideally in practice
• Confidence running your own self-assessment workload
• A good grasp of MTD, or a real appetite to become the expert
• ATT qualified or part qualified is welcome, but experience counts just as much
