The Role:
As a Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing high-quality accountancy and advisory services. You will work closely with partners, leading client engagements, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and developing strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all accounting, tax, and advisory services.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax computations.
- Delivering business advice and consultancy services to clients, helping them with strategic planning and financial decision-making.
- Reviewing and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, including UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members, providing guidance and reviewing their work.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery.
- Identifying opportunities to offer additional services to clients and help grow the firm’s business.
- Managing workflows to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
- Attending client meetings and presenting financial information in a clear and professional manner.
- Assisting partners with practice management, including billing, fee negotiations, and business development activities.
- Keeping up to date with changes in accounting and tax regulations and advising clients accordingly.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients, providing a wide range of accounting and tax services.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS) and tax regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and developing junior staff.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify business development opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- A commercial mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
