Job Title: Outsourcing and Business Services Manager

Location: Guildford

Main Purpose of the Role:

To lead and manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service delivery, while supervising and assisting with the training of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outsourcing & Management Accounts

    • Design, implement, and oversee month-end/quarter-end processes for clients.
    • Prepare accurate management accounts and board reports, providing insights and strategic recommendations.
    • Work closely with clients to interpret financial data and support business growth.
  • Cloud Accounting Solutions

    • Lead the implementation of cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and ensure seamless transitions from legacy systems.
    • Provide training and ongoing support to clients and staff on cloud-based solutions.
  • VAT Returns

    • Manage VAT return preparation and submission, ensuring compliance with regulations.
    • Advise clients on VAT implications and maintain efficient VAT procedures.
  • Team Management

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team, ensuring quality assurance and performance.
    • Conduct regular reviews and set development objectives for team members.
  • Statutory Accounts & Compliance

    • Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
    • Collaborate with clients and auditors to ensure timely and accurate year-end financial statements.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement

    • Continuously assess and improve accounting systems and processes, promoting the adoption of new technologies.
    • Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance client service delivery.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in marketing, new business tenders, and client onboarding.
  • Promote new working methods and keep up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling services to clients.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in practice.
  • Skills & Experience:
    • Strong IT and cloud accounting knowledge (Xero, QuickBooks).
    • Leadership skills with experience managing teams and clients.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
