ABOUT THE FIRM

My client is a well-established local practice that's part of a large UK and Ireland accountancy and business advisory group. Day to day it feels like a close-knit local office. Behind that you've got specialist support, technical resources and a lot of colleagues to lean on when a job gets tricky, which makes a real difference in audit.

THE ROLE

You'll run the audit process for your own portfolio of clients, from smaller owner-managed businesses through to larger entities. You'll review files, keep jobs on time and on budget, and be the main point of contact for your clients. You'll also line manage the juniors and help win new work, so there's a genuine chance to shape the team and the client base.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients, from small to large
  • Running the audit process and reviewing audit files
  • Keeping jobs on time and on budget
  • Line managing and mentoring junior team members
  • Preparing proposals and joining pitches for new clients
  • Making sure the team meets all regulatory and statutory requirements

WHO THIS WILL SUIT

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Broad audit experience across a mixed portfolio
  • Charity and not-for-profit audit experience would be a real bonus
  • Solid FRS 102 knowledge and a working understanding of IFRS
  • Experience managing and developing junior staff
  • Friendly, commercially minded and confident with clients
