An established and highly regarded national audit, tax, and advisory firm is seeking a qualified Audit Manager to lead on audit engagements for a varied portfolio of corporate clients. The firm combines local expertise with global reach, offering services across audit, tax, advisory and consulting.

The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and ambitious audit professional to step into a senior leadership role. As Audit Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing audit engagements, client relationships, and team performance. You will play a key role in shaping the audit offering and mentoring the next generation of talent within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of statutory audit engagements from planning through to completion and sign-off.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships.

  • Lead and manage on-site audit teams, providing technical guidance, support, and performance feedback.

  • Review and finalise audit files, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Manage a portfolio of clients independently, including complex groups and fast-growing corporates.

  • Monitor budgets, WIP, and billing across your portfolio to ensure profitable delivery.

  • Collaborate with partners on business development, client proposals, and identifying cross-service opportunities.

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the audit function and foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with full membership of a recognised UK accounting body.

  • Extensive experience in external audit within UK accountancy practice, ideally with a focus on corporate clients.

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.

  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead complex engagements.

  • Excellent leadership, team management, and coaching skills.

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify value-added solutions for clients.
