Job Description: As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing all aspects of their accounting needs, and providing expert financial advice. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique requirements and develop tailored solutions to meet their objectives. This role requires a proactive and client-focused approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review and complete year-end financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns for a portfolio of clients.
  2. Complete all relevant company secretarial work to ensure all clients are fully compliant and up to date
  3. Conduct regular client meetings to discuss financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide strategic advice.
  4. Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact for all accounting-related queries.
  5. Review the work of junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  6. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and provide informed advice to clients.
  7. Assist with ad-hoc projects and assignments as required, including financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to share knowledge and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA with significant experience in a similar role within an accountancy firm.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of UK GAAP and tax legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in accounting software - especially Xero.
