Our client, is a 10-partner, full-service firm of Chartered Accountants, operating from its own offices in Loughton. With over 70 years of establishment, our client has maintained its independence and has primarily grown organically. Serving a diverse clientele across various sectors, our client focuses on owner-managed businesses and their entrepreneur owners. Additionally, the firm expertly caters to UK subsidiaries of large international groups.
**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for a portfolio of clients, delivering exceptional service and overseeing all aspects of statutory accounts work. Leading a team of professionals, you will ensure high-quality results, meet deadlines, and effectively develop team members.
**Core Responsibilities**
- Planning jobs and liaising with clients to address their needs and key assignment areas.
- Assessing the use of outsourcing versus in-house tasks.
- Preparing budgets and timelines, ensuring client sign-off and adherence.
- Managing the assignment lifecycle, delegating and reviewing staff work to maintain standards.
- Engaging in business development activities.
- Providing timely feedback to partners on client issues and producing high-quality complete files.
- Identifying potential business revenue and discussing with clients.
- Managing team performance and development, providing regular feedback and reporting to partners.
- Ensuring timely milestones, probationary reviews, and annual appraisals.
- Performing other duties as required for role execution.
**Who We are Looking For**
- Qualified ACA/ACCA with strong technical competence.
- Proven track record in portfolio management.
- Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.
- Extensive experience in statutory and management accounts within a Mid-Tier Practice.
- Experience in team management and development.
- Knowledge of current UK GAAP accounting standards.
- IT literate with proficiency in Xero, CaseWare, Sage, and CCH (advantageous).
- Strong VAT knowledge.
- Candidates must have a car and a clean driving licence.
