A long-established, partner-led accountancy practice in Brighton is looking for an Accounts Manager to run a portfolio of clients and lead the accounts team.

It's a small, friendly firm where the partners are hands-on and easy to talk to. You'll be working right alongside them, so your ideas get heard and your work gets noticed.

The client base is broad and loyal. Property, construction, retail, legal and healthcare practices, charities and trusts. There's also a specialist niche in service charge accounts, which keeps things interesting.

What you'll be doing

• Managing your own portfolio of owner-managed business clients
• Reviewing accounts, management accounts and corporation tax work prepared by the team
• Being the main point of contact for your clients and spotting advisory opportunities
• Getting involved in charity, trust and service charge accounts
• Coaching and developing seniors and trainees, including those studying

Who this will suit

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with a strong UK practice background
• Already reviewing work and looking after clients, as a manager or experienced assistant manager
• Someone who enjoys people as much as the numbers
