Your Role as Accounts Assistant Manager:

  • Client Management: Report directly to the director to manage a diverse client portfolio.
  • Team Leadership: Collaborate with senior staff to oversee the daily operations of the Pitstone office.
  • Client Engagement: Review work and highlight key points for client meetings.
  • Mentorship: Support and mentor trainees and junior staff members.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with individual and business clients, providing financial information and advice.
  • Account Review: Oversee year-end accounts and corporate tax returns.
  • Tax Compliance: Complete self-assessment tax returns.
  • Financial Management: Maintain accounting records and prepare management accounts for small businesses.
  • Job Planning: Organise and plan tasks for yourself and others.
  • Billing and Fees: Handle billing, fee reviews, and new client quotations.
  • Staff Development: Review junior colleagues’ work and support their studies and apprenticeships.

What You Bring:

  • Qualifications: ACCA/ACA qualified or similar, with 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Expertise: Proven financial management skills and legislative compliance.
  • Client Experience: Previous experience in a busy accountancy practice.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in accounting systems like Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
  • Portfolio Management: Ability to manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
  • Leadership: Experience in managing and developing a team.
