Your Role as Accounts Assistant Manager:
- Client Management: Report directly to the director to manage a diverse client portfolio.
- Team Leadership: Collaborate with senior staff to oversee the daily operations of the Pitstone office.
- Client Engagement: Review work and highlight key points for client meetings.
- Mentorship: Support and mentor trainees and junior staff members.
- Client Interaction: Liaise with individual and business clients, providing financial information and advice.
- Account Review: Oversee year-end accounts and corporate tax returns.
- Tax Compliance: Complete self-assessment tax returns.
- Financial Management: Maintain accounting records and prepare management accounts for small businesses.
- Job Planning: Organise and plan tasks for yourself and others.
- Billing and Fees: Handle billing, fee reviews, and new client quotations.
- Staff Development: Review junior colleagues’ work and support their studies and apprenticeships.
What You Bring:
- Qualifications: ACCA/ACA qualified or similar, with 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Expertise: Proven financial management skills and legislative compliance.
- Client Experience: Previous experience in a busy accountancy practice.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in accounting systems like Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
- Portfolio Management: Ability to manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
- Leadership: Experience in managing and developing a team.
