Virtual Finance Controller | West Sussex | Hybrid & Remote | 30-35 hrs (Fully Flexible)

A modern, fast-growing accountancy practice in West Sussex is looking for a Virtual Finance Controller (VFC) to join the team in a genuinely flexible, hybrid capacity. This is a firm built around cloud accounting and advisory-led services, supporting ambitious businesses as a true finance partner rather than a traditional compliance provider.

This isn't your typical practice role. You'll act as an outsourced finance lead for a portfolio of growing clients, with real variety, autonomy, and client exposure built in.

What you'll be doing:

• Acting as a virtual FC for a portfolio of scaling businesses
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts and financial reports
• Overseeing bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Supporting clients with day-to-day finance queries and decision-making
• Working across Xero, Dext and Fathom
• Assisting with year-end accounts and tax compliance, depending on your experience

You'll be the person clients trust, rely on, and see as an extension of their business.

Who this would suit:

• An experienced Accountant, Management Accountant or Client Manager looking for more flexibility
• Someone already operating as a virtual FD/FC, or ready to step into that space
• ACA, ACCA, CTA or qualified by experience
• Confident with cloud accounting (Xero essential, Dext/Fathom a bonus)
